It all started with this just because I like the flow and the feather ends of the cloak.
Afterwards I started experimenting with the looks and poses.
I was gonna do more creepy expressions but it ended up being all cute… I think?
Gaster hides a lot of things under his cloak. Space, creepy stuff, Undertale’s game coding, etc.
Not sure if the cloak is functional for flight/gliding.
The doc keeps tracks of the “player’s” playthrough of Undertale? He may be also spying on other alternate timelines? All I know is that his workspace is small and messy.
I’m a dummy! I promise myself to stop drawing either or both fan arts and personal works so I can focus on my junior piece but NOOOoooo! I let my dummy self experiment more on Gaster cause he’s an interesting character to draw. I called him Bird Gaster just because I have a silly thought that he can shape shift his cloak and stuff… also I like bird theme designs and stuff. Please stop me.
second off. i have never????? said that chara is completely innocent??? they’ve hurt a lot of people, yes. i know that they were willing to kill at least 6 humans. i know and fully admit that they manipulated Asriel into going with their plan + staying quiet about it. i know that asriel’s death is their fault. i know that the complete loss of hope in the underground is their fault. i know toriel leaving + her subsequent loneliness is their fault. i know that asgore having to kill 6 children to give his kingdom an ounce of hope is their fault. believe me. i know.
but they were a child. and i fully believe that they thought that what they were doing was right. they did it wrong. i’ll fully admit that. they were too young to be taking on that responsibility. but i also believe that they didn’t do it with a cruel intent. they weren’t intending for any of the above to happen. if their original purpose was to drain the underground of hope or to gain power or to kill every monster, they could have done it with a lot less pain. they could have easily killed the Boss Monsters, who obviously loved + trusted Chara, and then moved on to kill everyone else. but they didn’t. because that wasn’t their intent.
as for the deaths that occur in any no mercy run, yes, they are committed by chara. but not fully. the blame isn’t on them. it’s on the player, who is as much an influence + presence in this game as any of the characters. flowey addresses you directly and chara does the same at the end of a no mercy run. and here’s what chara has to say about being brought back from death:
it’s your influence on chara that turns them into a being bent on gaining power by killing every monster they can find. you woke them up, gave them a purpose. and they complete it.
they even say –
honestly, even the game tells you that the blame is placed on you. you’re their PARTNER.at the absolute least, you, as the player, are equally to blame. chara is just a tool you used, a tool that became wrapped up in it’s mission.
and even that is shaky.
if you complete a second no mercy run, chara says this:
even the tool that you formed to complete this mission begins to question if murdering everyone, gaining power, is truly worth it.
tldr: chara has done some terrible things, but with either the right intentions or the wrong influences. have a good life.
