seriously disappointed in all the queer kids lashing out at allies right now, demanding they come out or shut up, like with mara wilson. in the wake of violent acts against the queer community we need more acceptance and support, not less. cis/hets are our brothers and sisters and friends and families, and they have every right to their horror and sorrow over these acts of hateful violence against us. they have every right to grieve with us. to try and chase them away now, to deny the validity of their emotions or to throw their compassion right back in their face, is to say straight is the same as heartless with a spectacularly clueless cruelty. 

the families of the dead in orlando don’t have to be as gay as the sons they’re mourning. their friends don’t have to meet some arbitrary standard of social disenfranchisement. allies are our friends and families and they want to stand with us in situations like this and that is real and important, and i’m damned if i sit here quietly while a bunch of angry, stupid kids play us vs them.

allies aren’t the problem. assholes who want to hurt and divide people are the problem. fucking watch yourselves.
