I absolutely adore how su shows how grief and pain can fuck you and your relationships up, how trauma can cause you to make mistakes and inadvertently harm people

I love how su never holds that against its characters and instead focuses on righting mistakes and making each other happy and working through pain and making others feel valued

What I dont like is the fandom obsession with deciding whether or not a character is Good or Bad

Rose loved humans, rose loved how complex they were, rose loved humanity and how people loved each other, she loved how complicated people were. I don’t think it’s a bad thing that the gems have human flaws. I dint think the show has ever excused their flaws but they never let the flaws solely define a character Forever

I think as an adult viewer its important to think about viewing the characters (and people in your life) as a whole being full of rights and wrongs, and how that doesn’t essentially make them wholly Good or Evil
