a mobility aid is essentially an extension of a person’s body. do not fucking touch it without asking. this goes doubly for moving mobility aids out of their users’ reach & pushing wheelchairs without their users’ explicit consent

most people don’t think about glasses as a disability aid, but please do not touch or move someone’s glasses without permission. i am legally blind without my glasses and my abuser used to move them without telling me when i took them off to cuddle with them, then would abruptly leave the room without telling me where they were and leaving me to fumble around for them. i say this as a physically disabled person who needs to use mobility aids: please do not touch or move anyone’s glasses, hearing aids, canes, walkers, chairs, etc. ever. if you are genuinely concerned about them, ask the person permission and show them, guiding their hand if necessary (ask proactively) where you have put it.
